Your body position is perfect. But your face looks tense, your chin is too high, and your shoulders are up by your ears. Expression Coach uses body tracking to give you real-time feedback on the parts of a pose that people get wrong most: face angle, chin tilt, and shoulder tension.
Expression Coach builds on the same TensorFlow.js MoveNet body tracking that powers Pose Match. But instead of scoring your whole body, it focuses on the upper body — specifically the relationships between your head, shoulders, and neck. It analyzes face tilt, chin position, shoulder symmetry, and overall tension, then displays real-time tips on screen.
How to Use It
Step 1
Activate Expression Coach
Open Feature Hub (⚡) and tap 😊 Expression Coach. It automatically activates the body tracking model if it's not already running.
Step 2
Watch the live tips
Tips appear on screen as you move: "Chin down slightly," "Relax your shoulders," "Tilt head left." These update in real time as you adjust.
Step 3
Adjust and capture
Follow the tips until Expression Coach stops giving corrections. When everything looks good, capture your shot.
What Feedback You Get
Expression Coach focuses on three areas. Chin position — it detects if your chin is too high (unflattering nostril view) or too low (double chin territory) and suggests the sweet spot. Shoulder alignment — it flags if one shoulder is significantly higher than the other or if both are tensed up toward your ears. Head tilt — it suggests subtle head angles that add personality without looking forced.
Tips
Use it with Pose Match for full-body + face coverage
Pose Match handles body position scoring. Expression Coach handles the face and shoulders. Together they cover everything.
The jaw-forward trick
Push your chin slightly forward and down. This defines your jawline and eliminates double chin in photos. Expression Coach will often suggest this adjustment.
FAQ
Does Expression Coach require a specific camera angle?
It works best when your upper body (head, shoulders, arms) is clearly visible. A waist-up framing is ideal.
Is this the same AI as Pose Match?
It uses the same MoveNet body tracking model but focuses analysis on the upper body — head tilt, chin position, and shoulder alignment.
Can I use it for selfies?
Yes — it's especially useful for selfies where face angle and chin position make the biggest difference.
Does it work offline?
Yes — TensorFlow.js MoveNet runs entirely in your browser.
