Perfect pose, terrible framing. Sound familiar? Composition Coach overlays rule-of-thirds gridlines and headroom guides directly on your camera feed — turning every shot into a well-composed frame.
Composition Coach activates with Pose Match and uses your detected body position to analyze framing. It overlays rule-of-thirds gridlines and shows headroom indicators — telling you if you have too much or too little space above your head. It also checks if you're centered or positioned along the power lines of the frame.
How to Use It
Step 1
Activate Comp Coach
Open Feature Hub and tap 📐 Comp Coach. It automatically enables Pose Match if it isn't already running — the body tracking data feeds the composition analysis.
Step 2
Position yourself in frame
Watch the gridlines and headroom indicators. Adjust your position (or ask your photographer to adjust the camera angle) until the composition guides show good framing.
Step 3
Capture with professional framing
When Comp Coach shows green indicators, your framing is solid. Capture the shot.
Composition Rules It Applies
Rule of thirds — your body should align with the vertical third lines, not dead center (unless it's a headshot). Headroom — there should be a small amount of space above your head, not a huge gap or cutting off the top of your head. Eye line — your eyes should roughly align with the upper third line for the most natural-looking composition.
FAQ
Does it require Pose Match?
Yes — Composition Coach uses body tracking data from Pose Match to analyze your position in the frame.
What if I want a centered shot?
Center framing works great for headshots and symmetrical poses. Comp Coach is a guide, not a requirement — use your judgment.
Does it work for selfies?
Yes — headroom and eye-line guidance are especially useful for selfies where framing mistakes are common.
Can I turn off the grid?
Toggling off Comp Coach in the Feature Hub removes the overlay and composition hints.
